This Privacy Policy explains what data the Trenches browser extension (“Trenches,” “the Extension,” “we,” “us”) collects, how it’s used, and how it’s protected. Trenches is a Chrome side panel that helps users research prospects, draft outreach emails, and track follow-ups from a companion “Outreach” dashboard.
1.Data We Collect

We do not collect browsing history, passwords, financial account numbers, or health information. We do not access tabs you have not actively opened the panel on.
2.How We Use Data
- To populate the side panel with prospect and company details relevant to the page you’re on.
- To generate and let you edit email drafts before you choose to send them.
- To sync your outreach activity (drafts, sent status, follow-up reminders) to your Outreach dashboard so it’s available across sessions and devices.
- To keep you signed in without re-entering credentials every session.
3.Where Data Is Stored
- Locally: Settings and your authentication token/PIN are cached in your browser’s local storage (
chrome.storage) for quick access and are never written into the visible page or logged. - On our servers: Prospect/contact data and outreach activity are also synced to our backend (referred to internally as TRENCHES_DB) so they appear in your Outreach dashboard. Server-side data is associated with your account only and is not accessible to other users.
4.Third-Party Services
We use the following processors to operate core features. They receive only the minimum data needed to perform their function and do not use your data to train their own models:
- Perplexity API — used to verify or look up publicly available information related to a prospect or company. No data sent is used to train Perplexity’s models.
- Claude API (Anthropic) — used to generate email draft text based on the information you’re viewing; you review and edit every draft before sending. No data sent is used to train Claude’s models.
- Email delivery provider (e.g., Resend) — used solely to transmit emails you choose to send through the panel; it is not used to store or analyze your contact list beyond what’s required for delivery.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
5.Data Retention & Deletion
- Locally cached data persists until you clear your browser storage or uninstall the extension.
- Server-side data persists until you delete it from your Outreach dashboard or request account deletion by emailing support@modernrugged.media. We will delete your account data within 30 days of a verified request.
6.Security
We limit what the extension can read to the active tab you’re working on, avoid storing secrets in the page DOM, and never log your authentication token/PIN. Data in transit to our backend is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
7.Children’s Privacy
Trenches is a business-to-business tool intended for professional outreach use. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect data from, children under 13.
8.Your Choices & Rights
- You can review, edit, or delete outreach data from your Outreach dashboard at any time.
- You can clear locally stored settings by removing the extension.
- You can request access to, or deletion of, your data by contacting support@modernrugged.media.
9.Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Extension’s features change. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
